Nestled on the North Shore of Oahu, the Haleiwa Arts Festival has become a beloved annual tradition that celebrates the rich cultural heritage and vibrant artistic community of Hawaii. Since its inception, the festival has grown into a cornerstone event, attracting artists, visitors, and art enthusiasts from around the world.

  • A Dream.

The concept of a North Shore arts organization lingered in the minds of several local arts advocates and artists for many years. In 1997, a group of interested and dedicated individuals got together, discussed the topic, and decided to organize into a formal entity. They recognized the need for a dedicated platform where artists could showcase their work and connect with the public. They envisioned an event that would not only highlight the talents of local artists but also foster a deeper appreciation within our local community. This sense of community and togetherness is a huge cornerstone of the Haleiwa Arts Festival many experience today.

  • Build it.

An application for Non-Profit Status was submitted in November 1998 and approved in November 1999. From these humble beginnings, the festival has since flourished, welcoming more participants and expanding its offerings each year. Professional, amateur, student artists, and keiki (children) have participated in Hale’iwa Arts Festival Events since the first annual summer event in 1998. Local businesses, organizations, and volunteers have played an essential role in its success. Their contributions, whether in the form of sponsorship, services, or volunteer hours, have been instrumental in bringing the festival to life each year.

  • Our Mission

For the past 25 years, the heart of the Haleiwa Arts Festival is a commitment to nurture and promote the artistic talents of our community. We believe in the power of art to inspire, educate, and connect people. The festival not only provides a venue for artists to display and sell their work but also fosters an environment where visitors can engage with the artists, learn about their creative processes, and gain a deeper appreciation for the arts.

  • Looking Ahead.

As we continue to grow, we remain committed to our founding principles of fostering creativity, supporting local artists, and celebrating the cultural heritage of Hawaii. We invite you to join us at the Haleiwa Arts Festival, whether as an artist, a volunteer, a sponsor, or a visitor. Together, we can continue to create an inspiring and inclusive event that brings joy and enrichment to all.
